DCI Students Complete USC Annenberg Summer Youth Academy!

Congratulations to DCI veterans Naomi Silver and Michael Tseng who were not only accepted into USC's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism Youth Academy for Media and Civic Engagement, but who thrived during the three-week summer program. The program taught the students a greater understanding of media and journalism literacy and practices, and essential competencies required for excellence in and out of the classroom. The program offers the equivalent of first-year college level courses, and the students worked directly with USC professors and administrators. Congratulations to Naomi and Michael!

A select group of DCI students will be attending USC's High School Journalism Day for the second straight year. This full-day of workshops at USC is where Michael and Naomi were first introduced and were encouraged to apply to the summer program.
